Lane Education Services Review - Mud Girl

Reviewed by: Christie McBride

Sixteen-year-old Abi doesn't know he place in the world, her mother took off and her father pays no attention to her. The one thing she is sure of is she is going to have to figure life out on her own. Things get complicated when she befriends a little two-year-old boy named Dyl. Dyl needs her as much as she needs him, but is this too much for a young girl to take on? This book starts out slow and then really grabs your attention. There is some inappropriate language but not enough to make it too unavailable to the middle school student. Some readers might find it difficult to follow when Abi is sharing her thoughts throughout the story. A good read and the cover is sure to draw girl's attention to the book.
