Daniel Scott Tysdal received the John V. Hicks Manuscript Award from the Saskatchewan Writers Guild for Predicting the Next Big Advertising Breakthrough Using a Potentially Dangerous Method. It is his first book publication, but his poetry has appeared in a number of Canadian literary journals and has aired on CBC Radio, where he was a finalist in the 2005 National Poetry Face-Off. A poem from this collection, "An Experiment in Form," received an honourable mention at the National Magazine Awards.
